The Carpenter (Nicolas Cage), his wife (FKA twigs), and their son, referred to as “the Boy” (Noah Jupe).

While hiding, the son is tempted by a mysterious girl who entices him to rebel against his father. This rebellion leads to the discovery of his hidden powers, and the family becomes the target of both natural and divine horrors. The mysterious stranger is later revealed to be Satan.
